Hi, I’m Jen. I second shoot for photographers who want full coverage without feeling like they have to babysit or micromanage. (ew)
I’ve been second shooting since 2020, and I know my role...support the lead, tell the story, and capture everything happening around the main action without getting in the way.
My job is to make your day easier.
My Philosophy
When I’m second shooting, I don’t try to recreate your gallery.
I intentionally look for:
• alternate angles
• candid reactions
• details you don’t have time to grab
• the in-between moments that help tell the full story
• BTS content for you!
Your card shouldn’t look identical to mine, and you shouldn’t be culling the same photos twice.
I also stay tuned into what you need throughout the day. Sometimes that’s veil fixes, sometimes it’s wrangling family for formals, sometimes it’s water and a 'you can do this...only 3 more hours!'. I try to be the second shooter I love having next to me when I’m the lead photographer.
How I show up for you
• I represent your brand. I interact with guests and vendors professionally and respectfully. For that day, I am part of your staff.
• I’m loyal to the lead. If you’re stressed or need backup, I’m there.
• I dress professionally in black or muted colors with closed-toe shoes so I blend in and can move comfortably.
• I work really well with parents, grandparents, and groomsmen. I’m kind and direct, but I keep things moving.
• I’m confident and assertive. If someone wanders into the aisle or blocks your shot, I’ll handle it politely and protect the angle so you don’t have to.
• I grab behind-the-scenes content throughout the day (you, details, quiet moments). You’ll walk away with plenty of BTS you can use for reels, stories, and marketing without ever having to think about it. (if you want!)
Bottom line: I’m here to support you and the experience you’ve created for your couple.
What You Can Expect Working With Me
• Professional, but I still come with a personality
• Comfortable jumping in where needed and stepping back when it’s your moment
• Clean (no haze), consistent, RAWs. I normally shoot a couple stops underexposed, but I am happy to adjust for any style of photography
• Comfortable with flash and tough lighting
• Dual-card bodies, backup gear, and insurance
• I photograph for your brand first
• Respectful of your clients and your workflow
• I only share images with your permission, and always after your final gallery has been delivered (TBH I rarely use SS photos for anything, ain't nobody got time for that)
I’m happy working with clear direction or full independence. I do my best work when expectations are communicated up front, then I’m trusted to create within your vision.
I welcome and ask for feedback. Every photographer works differently, and what I do at my own weddings may not be what you prefer at yours. After we work together, I like to check in about angles, lenses, settings, and how I supported you and your clients so I can keep adjusting and become the ideal second shooter for your workflow.

My second shooter rate starts at $75/hour but can vary based on location.
